3 5 7 algorithm stick game?

Hi my math teacher showed me a game where you there is three rows of sticks the first has 3 2nd has 5 and last has 7 you have to erase the stick from each of the rows. each player takes turn by taking out any amount of stick from one row. Can someone explain me a strategy to beat my teacher? He beats me all the time >.<
