Before testing should we test the testers?

Would this cause us then to test the tester of the tester. Or in testing the tester would we satisfy the need to test testers when actually the testers should be tested by the tester of the tester? This has gotten rathy testy. Not to my taste. I had a taste test, Did that make me a testee?
