Is it ok for a lovebird to nest in a finch nest?

hi, i have a single female lovebird and lately shes been having nesting behaviors and before she had a mate ...im not sure if it was a male or female but it died like 4 months ago ,before it died they layd eggs in a finch nest i gave them to sleep in . unfortunately none hatched . now my only love bord is striping paper and plucking her own feathers and putting them in the bottom corner of the cage in the form of a nest and sitting on it . i already checked if it had eggs in it ,and it didn't so i threw it out .any ways yesterday i bought her a giant finch nest just like the one they had before and she loves it! i was wandering if this is okay ? and will she lay infertile eggs ,if so is it healthy for her to do that? thanks =D
